7*4*11 Festivities

We had a busy weekend. Friday night, Ramsey went with my parents to Jackson to eat with some of her cousins that were in town and Michael took us to eat at Spaghetti Warehouse, I have not been there since a graduation party in high school. It was a pretty night and Jonathan and i enjoyed the sunset over the river.
A pink sunset always reminds us of Evie so we soaked it in.
Memphis is a beautiful city
We met Nick and Casey at Levitt shell to watch a documentary about The Band. Casey and i talked the entire time so i don't really know what it was about, ha but it had great music. Of course we have an Evie memory from Levitt Shell, they have concerts here in the summer and we decided one night to take the girls. I am so glad we did. Her and Ramsey had so much fun running around and Evie kept trying to get on stage.
She would cry every time i would go get her, ha!
Saturday, we went swimming and cooked out at the house.
Sunday, Mimi went to church with us and we went to lunch. I struggled through church. I still have a hard time with certain songs or hearing certain things. Our pastor is going through 1 john 4 and as uplifting as this book should be, it is hard to hear. I have to think that Evie was given to me and this world for a purpose and she served it in the short time she was her and it was just her time. God is love, i know he did not take her from me to hurt me. I just still struggle with it.

Sunday night, we went to the Redbirds game with some friends and watched the fireworks.
If you live in Memphis i am sure you have heard about the shooting at the Double Tree Hotel, well unfortunately we were in the middle of the chaos. We were walking towards the stadium when police cars and undercover cars started racing past us. We had Ramsey so of course it made us a little nervous, we didn't know if it was a chase or what. We notice they are all stopping at the hotel across from the stadium and then people are running out of the TGIFridays that is in the lobby crying and they are making everyone go to the other side of the street. We finally get to the stadium and police men have their guns behind their cars so they rush us into the stadium so they can close the gate. Well come to find out a man shot a police officer and his wives ex husband in the hotel.
They interviewed the wife of the officer on the news yesterday and i just hurt so bad for her. I do not understand her pain, i haven't lost my husband but it was an all to familiar feeling listening to her. You could tell by watching her that she was in shock, she was being positive and talked about her husband being a christian and she was so calm. I knew exactly what she was feeling in that aspect, numb. These first few weeks will be a blur for sure and in 6 months when for me has been the hardest, i pray that her friends are family are still there for her and praying for her, like people have been for us.

We sat on the bluff and the girls had the best time running around. We didn't watch any baseball..ha but had a great time and enjoyed the fireworks afterwards.
So festive..
She loved laying on the grass for some reason, ha
Sweet girls
Ramsey felt the need for a piggy back ride
Ring around the rosie
All fall down!
Ramsey loved the fireworks and kept talking about how big they were and what colors they were and kept saying
"I have fun at baseball game" :)
Monday, we went to Stiles Beach and swam and cooked out with some friends.
I guess Ramsey didn't feel like messing up her hair, she never got in the water, she was perfectly content in the sandbox and walking around, ha.
Sunday night we had Mimi, Michael, Rob, Amber and Mrs Becky over for a cook out and Michael brought some fireworks for Ramsey
Then we watched the Germantown firweorks at the Millers.
They have the perfect spot to watch them.
Happy Fourth of July!
