SNOW DAY!!

Well they said it but who would have believed them! Wasn't it like 70 degrees just a few days ago. I was very jealous of Maddie and Jonathan but i enjoyed watching them play in the front yard from our window!

30 weeks!

Can you believe we made it? I would have never thought it 11 weeks ago. We are so excited and can't wait to meet these girls in less than 8 weeks!!
I feel huge and i am officially "waddling". Mom had to go to Baby Gap to get me more shirts to wear for my showers. I have grown out of most of the things i have bought!! I have to keep telling myself, it is okay there are TWO in there! They are about 3 pds each right now which means 6 pds worth of babies, that is a full term baby! No wonder!
A funny thing i noticed this week is that i crave ice. I never thought this meant anything until i looked it up and it says i could be low on iron. Very interesting! I guess i need to eat some more meat or something. Every time they do my blood work my levels are good so maybe i just want ice.
We go back to the doctor Wednesday and then to Dr. BK to see our girls on Friday.

Business is up and running!

I decided that i wanted to start making clothes and different things for the girls. I was told by my friend Emily to look at a website called etsy because they had great deals on clothes and different things. While looking through the website i noticed people were doing appliqued onesies and burp clothes. I thought" I can do this, I sit at home all day, i am going to figure it out"!! So i did and started ordering several fabrics. Here are a few samples of things i made today.

This is a close up of the caterpillar and butterfly. I am going to stitch antennas for both and maybe put a little face on the caterpillar, i havent decided yet..any opinions??

This last one is going to ruin a gift for some people but these are dish towels with cross appliques. I made several different ones to give to my shower hostesses . I hope they like them:)

So that is all i have done so far. I am already obsessed and can't wait to do more!!!

Well just so you know i went back to sleep this morning and woke up just in time for Young and the Restless :)
I just talked to Jonathan, and the nurses at his doctors offices want me to post some ultrasound pics of Ramsey and Evie. They are always so sweet to ask about us and how we are doing so here are some pics!
We have been spoiled with ultrasounds and get them every two weeks and it is so neat to see how much they grow in that time. It definitely shows you how important it is to keep these babies in, a week makes such a big difference in their growth and development!
People always ask "How do you know which one is Ramsey and which one is Evie"? It is a little confusing to me also but when they look at twins there is always a "presenting" baby which is Baby A this baby is the first one delivered and they never switch spots in the womb. Since Baby A is delivered first and our original girls name was Evie Grace we chose Baby A to be her. Baby B is Ramsey Cate ( Ramsey is my maiden name) Evie is head down under my belly button and Ramsey is Transverse across the top of my stomach. They are taking up all the space they can..and that is okay:)

Up too early this morning..

You have probably noticed that i published this post at a time that i didnt even know existed on a clock, 8:00 AM. I know, i was shocked myself when i woke up this morning at 7:30.
What is the deal?? I have no reason to be up and now i am just cranky. I have been trying to put a little light on the subject and this is what i decided.....
I have decided that everything you go through during pregnancy only prepares you for taking care of a newborn.
Number 1: Insomnia (it takes me forever to go to sleep and then i still wake up early)
Number 2: i wake up several times because i swear Evie grabs my bladder and squeezes it. Last night she squeezed 5 times!!! UGH
So here is my theory...
Insomnia well that prepares you for not having any sleep in your near future, a way of slowly getting you used to it and having to get up and pee all night long is Gods way of getting you used to middle of the night feedings.
That has to be the reason. Anyone who knows me knows that sleep is one of the most important things in my life. I am a night owl and dont talk to me in the morning. I wake up i just enough time to hop in the shower and get in my car to go to work.
Now that i have been on bed rest i usually dont get up until like 10:30. I eat some breakfast and then watch Young and the Restless. I mean who in their right mind gets up early for no reason?? I will never understand morning people and i am sure they will never understand me.
Soon, this will all change Drastically, but for now i need my sleep and i am not a happy camper if i don't get it!! the end

The room is coming along!

We have started the room. I feel like it is taking forever to finish but i cant do much so that is just the way it is. Thank goodness for family that can help out. My mom and Amber come almost every Friday and sew. We like to call it Alicia's sweat shop since i just bark orders from my recliner while they sew away in the dining room!! haha 

It is also nice to have such a handy husband, he helps my ideas come to life! 

I love a store called bella vita in Collierville. I get several ideas from them.

My favorite thing were these frames made out of fence post. They can be a little bit expensive so i decided we could make them. I think Jonathan did a great job!

The next thing we copied to save a little moola, was the bedding. I have been eyeing bedding at Mango Street Baby for over a year and always said if we had a girl that this is what we would use. Lucky us get TWO!!
The bedding is from Serena and Lily. I love all their stuff and have several friends who have used them. I never thought i would make it, much easier to purchase. Then i found out i would have to buy two so making them made a little more sense!!
I ordered the fabric for the bumper from the website and then Amber and my mom found the ribbon, and other fabrics for the bed skirt and cording around the bumper. They did a great job!

I even got the same Jenny Lind beds, which are so classic i love them!!

For the chair we ordered a glider/rocker and ottoman from Baby Time, we got it covered in green minky dot which matches the green on the bedding and the changing pad cover. Here is a pic of the chair but it has different fabric on it. Don't you think i will just melt into it!!


Last but not least Jonathan and I were fortunate to inherit some dressers. The best part was that they were pretty much identical, just needed to be painted. The 6 drawer one was mine when i was little and the yellow one was Jonathan's. We decided to use my dresser for the changing table, the only problem was that it was too short. Jonathan put legs on the bottom and that made it perfect. We sanded and painted both dressers than replaced the knobs with crystal ones. They look great! I don't have a before of my dresser. It was already white, we just added the legs and knobs

We still have curtains to finish, i will post a picture when those are done. They are pink and white silk stripes and we are putting pink and green fringe down the center. I love curtains and feel like they add so much to a room, so i cant wait to put those up.
The room will be complete when our two doodles get here!! I cant wait...only 8 more weeks max!!!

Stroller dilema

so...having twins is already hard. I am having double stroller issues. We have the BOB duallie but of course only one side holds a car seat, so when they are little i wouldn't be able to put them in it. The lady at mango street said there is a head support thing i can use but we will see about that. 

So... would it be more difficult to take the girls out of their car seats when i get to target and put them in the BOB, rather than taking their car seats out and putting them in a stroller, but then how do i push a shopping cart?? So, do i not use a stroller when i go to target and just put their car seats in the cart?? 

Thinking about all this i thought i found a solution and I registered for the baby trend double snap an go. I heard it was the best thing ever so i was really excited. Well come to find out our car seat which is a chicco is the only one that doesn't fit in it..annoying! Graco fits so you would think i would just change car seats, but i don't want to. I love my orange chicco and i don't really like any graco styles. I know what you are thinking...alicia get over it and buy new car seats its the best option! Well i never make things easy so i started researching ways to make my chicco work. I found a "swan" snap and go on ebay and the person put that they used chicco car seats..hmm i thought. Ours didnt work when we tried them so i thought they were lying. However i thought wrong. The "swan" is different from the regular snap and go and has been discontinued by baby trend but after researching over and over several people used the swan with chicco so we are going to start bidding on it and see what happens....wish us luck!

Best Baby Shower Ever!!

This weekend Jonathan and I had our first couples shower! We had such a great time and are so thankful for great family and friends!! I was so excited when the doctor said it could go. I did sit in my chair the whole time and if i got up to do anything i had several people making sure i sat down quickly! haha 

Having girls is going to be way to much fun. We got some great clothes and fun monogrammed things and of course several "necessities" as well!

There were about 60 people there and it seemed like everyone had fun!

Welcome to Three Doodles!! 

Jonathan and i have decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on our expanding family! Well really i sit at home all day so i need something to occupy my time. You can stare at facebook for so long!

Most of you already know but we are expecting twin girls in April! We couldn't be more excited! We have prayed for children for two years and can't wait to meet our little miracles!! 

I am currently on bed rest and have been for 10 weeks now!! It has actually flown by very quickly and we are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends taking care of us with food and much needed visits to keep me sane!
