A MEGnificent weekend!!!

Aunt Meg came in town and the girls were so excited to see her again :) We have always had different names for Meg depending on the season or what not. Here are a few examples...MEGnog (christmas) Leggo my MEGo( Saturday morning Meg) So i racked my brain for a good blog title. Jonathan actually came up with it(he says he needs the credit) and it certainly was MEGnificent!!!

Friday we took Natalie lunch at school and then went shopping. Saturday we woke up and headed to the zoo with Natalie and Addie. The girls first trip to the zoo!

We headed back to the house to get ready for Cortneys baby shower. Cortney and Chris are having a little girl, Anne Catherine, she is due in November. We cant wait to add another girl into the mix!

Since we had the shower at our house my mom took all the girls, which of course includes big sister Maddie, to her house to spend the day and night! My dad is out of town so she did it all by her lonesome! She is so good to us :) She even took them to church by herself this morning!
We met her for lunch to pick up the girls and went to Nick and Emilys. They just bought a new house in Germantown and it is so cute! Sorry Emily for delaying the unpacking :):)
It was such a pretty day and we had lots of BBQ left over from the shower so we had Jonathans family over for dinner

The weekend went by way to fast and so did the summer! I am ready for some fall and UT football though!! The VOLS have their first game Saturday( which is my bday, dont any of you forget that) and i made the girls some UT pillowcase dresses so dont you worry there will be plenty of pictures to come:)

Welcome to My Big Backyard

For play group today we decided to go to a new thing at the Botanic Gardens called My Big Backyard. The big kids had so much fun and one day i think Evie and Ramsey will also. It has an area with a big dog house and a huge lab statue, a bird house and nest you can play in. Every half hour they have a thunderstorm so the kiddos can get wet and tons of other things. Here are a few pics from the day. I probably took to many but everything is so cute:)

The girls are also 5 months today! Wow how time flies. They are getting so big and doing so many new things. The interact with us which makes things much more fun:) They are really starting to notice and smile and laugh at each other.

They are still great sleepers. I thought it was a phase but they have slept 10-12 hrs at night for 2 months now, so i know they can do it.

They are blowing bubbles, drooling and sucking on their fingers constantly so i am waiting for those little teeth to come through!

All Ramsey wants to do is stand and is sitting up, with a little help of course.

Evie is doing so much better with her head control. She loves rolling back and forth and laying on her belly. She does this silly side backbend thing. I will try to get a pic cause i am sure thats hard to picture haha

Being more active is fun but also harder. They don't just sleep at restaurants anymore, i do miss that:) The "witching hour" is a common thing at our house. I am sure they are sick of seeing my face( i know i am entertaining but not for a whole day) haha and they can only play with certain toys for so long. It is funny to look outside and see stroller after stroller pass by our house, so i know i am not the only one!

They are getting heavier! I would think 13-14 pds? We have packed up their NB and 0-3 mth clothes:( so sad. I think the next time we by diapers we will be getting 2's! The 1's are getting a little tight on their chunky bellies:)

We woke up this morning to get the girls and this is how we found Ramsey.....

When we put her to bed she was swaddled next to Evie on her positioner so i am really curious how she ended up way over there and a little scared at the same time. She rolls over some but isn't real good at it, so i am happy she didn't end up on her face!

Jonathan completed his first Sprint Triathlon this morning! 

He has been talking about doing one but hasn't really had the time to train....wonder why? He decided a few weeks ago to sign up and do the best he could. He swam at Windyke some but that was the part he was worried about the most. It was at Parsons Lake in the Eads area. The fact that it was in a lake is why i wouldnt do it...yucky fish and snakes. 

The swim was 400 meters and he about quit during the middle but pushed through it. They had boats and canoes if you needed to hold on and rest, so he did that for about 10 seconds then finished. After you swim you go to the transition area and get your bike.

my week

I have been such a slacker! I usually get up at 8, wake up the girls and head to the gym. This week, not so much. My alarm goes off, i don't hear babies crying so i go back to sleep!

Secondly, i have crazy slacker children. We have been putting them to bed earlier because they were sleeping longer. So they are usually in bed by 8:30 during the week and they have been sleeping until like 10 am, what is their dealio? This does not help my motivation! We know for sure these babies are ours, haha

Some exciting news this week. Two of my best friends had their baby boys a day apart!! Isn't that the coolest thing?! Anna went into labor 2 weeks early on Saturday night and delivered a beautiful baby boy Sunday morning! Stephanie was scheduled to be induced at midnight on Sunday and her beautiful baby boy was born on Monday night. Everyone is doing great!

A long morning...and night

We spent the night at my parents and Ramsey woke up several times so we didn't sleep so well. I tried to be good and just give her the pacifier and pat her. She would go back to sleep pretty quickly she just kept waking up every few hours. Who knows what was wrong with her. Evie slept through it all:) When she woke up again at 6 i finally woke Evie up and we fed them. We had to leave for Rehab at 7:45 so i knew it would be a rough morning. By the time we got to the hospital they were asleep of course. 

They were short staffed and had to go separately so Evie went for the first hour. 

The main concern with her is head control. They check several types of development and  try to see if they are catching up with their actual age of 4 months. Evie ranged from 1-4 mths. The issues they noticed with her was with tracing toys. She would follow it until she got to the center, then she wouldn't go the rest of the way. Unlike the doctor, they did think her muscles on her left side were tight. They gave us more exercises to do to stretch them out. They think the reason she isn't doing certain things is because of this. She did do a great job of lifting her head for them so i was glad about that. I usually have to put a towel down or lay her over her boppy. They suggested only putting toys on her right side so she looks that way and eventually she will get stronger. They are wanting Evie to come back more and will see her again in 2 weeks.

Ramsey went for the second hour and while we waited for the next therapist, they were both crying and getting each other going. She got in there and took Ramsey so that helped quiet them down. Thats the hardest part with two if you are alone, you cant comfort them both.

Ramsey did very well and was in the 3-4 mth range so YEAH! They are releasing her so lucky us only have to pay a $35 copay instead of $70!! ugh.... 

I am thankful for insurance though, so i shouldn't complain. I am sure all you mothers out there remember getting the hospital bills after your babies were born. Is it not outrageous? We have calculated for the girls including delivery and NICU over $ 150,000. So Praise the Lord for insurance!

Well Ramsey made it up to me and we all took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. I guess i will forgive her ;)
