Accomplished

not even close...

We did actually complete one project today that we wanted to this week!

This was my most important one...organizing Ramsey's room.

I dragged all her toys out, bought some storage boxes and we organized all morning.

I completely overwhelmed myself at first but just had to get started!

One side of her closet wasn't being used. It just had one shelve with a hanging rod and i had her coats and dress up clothes on it so we decided to add some shelving and store all of her toys. Jonathan cut all the wood and did a great job with the shelves!

She can reach everything except for the top three but the stuff see uses the most i put on the bottom.

Now she actually has room for her big girl bed. We are giving her our old bed when our new bed comes in hopefully mid January. Then the crib and rocker will move to the babies room.

Now that that is behind us we can focus on a couple other projects!

I realized i never posted about our Koi pond. The morning after we got Nala, i went into the kitchen on my way to take her out. I looked out our window and saw a HUGE bird! Like 4 ft tall. It looked like a crane but then Jonathan said it was a blue herron. I never even thought he would eat our fish, obviously birds do that but i didn't think about it. The next morning every. single. fish. was gone from our pond! We probably had over 20 fish in there. Several of them were over a foot long as well. So either the bird brought friends or he consumed all of those fish in one sitting! He came around for about a week. I was terrified to take Nala out in the middle of the night. I went out one time after looking all over for him and when i opened the door and went out he flew right over my head. I almost had a heart attack!

We decided maybe it was a blessing in disguise. With Ramsey, Nala and the baby coming it did make me a little nervous one of them would fall in and we have seen snakes and different things. So we drained the water and are going to fill it in and plant some sort of garden. Kind of sad to see it go! Ramsey loved those fish and we really enjoyed them as well!

Then Jonathan decided to make a patio in this area which is just dirt so this is where we have gotten so far...

I decided to start trying out some paint colors for the kitchen...

Well now i am overwhelmed again. To many projects started at one time. I am so bad about doing this. I need to prioritize and start one and finish it then start another!

Oh and we will be adding a baby here in about 9 weeks or less...i need an airplane bag to breath into!

Lazy Lazy

We have been so lazy this week! We are completely off schedule, Ramsey goes to bed at like 10 and wakes up about 930. We have been getting up with Nala once a night around 4, we take her outside, put her back in her crate and she sleeps until 8 to go outside and eat breakfast then she plays with us in our bed for about 20 minutes then she falls asleep again...seriously just like a newborn! so funny.

Laziness is not always a good thing...We have probably eaten every meal out, mainly because i have been too lazy to go to the grocery store and there have been several things on our list to do this week since Jonathan is home but we haven't really accomplished all of it. We still have tomorrow to finish it all...yea right.

We have managed to hang out with some friends. Audra came over yesterday to play, we have missed her! This morning we went to a new park and then to lunch with friends.

I knew this park didn't have a potty so i took Ramseys and put it in the car. I asked her over and over if she needed to go and of course she said no. We played for about 30 minutes then all of a sudden she yells across the playground "i gotta teetee" so we run to the car and by the time we get there she already went! bummer. I did bring extra panties so we sat on the potty for a little while, she said she was done so we went back to play. No lie, like 2 seconds later she comes running to me and said she went potty again! double bummer!! I know i am not supposed to get frustrated but i did. Obviously i know she is distracted and playing but we had just sat on the potty and she had just gone! Anyhoo we went back to the car and then had to go commando the rest of the morning. I am thankful that my friends let me get my frustrations off my chest, why i felt the need to cry about it who knows, hormones i guess?? Ramsey is the youngest of the group so i know i shouldn't expect her to be like her friends. I think i am the one who needs to work on getting less frustrated!!

On another note, i am completely distracted writing this post because Bradley Cooper is on Jimmy Fallon and i cant take my eyes off the television! ha

Best Buy

Potty Training is fun isn't it?!

This is a long post mainly for my records so it wont hurt my feelings if you skip down to the pictures! ha

I am sure some people think Ramsey should have been potty trained a long time ago but we are just now getting the hang of it. I tried this summer some, especially when she was in a bathing suit or we were hanging out at home. She just kept saying she didn't want to go so i never pushed her. We have all had enough stress this year and i didn't want to add any to her or me. Then school started and it was hard to be at home for three days straight and do that method. A lot of it was me being lazy and not wanting to sit in our house for three days. That sounded miserable to me!

Eventually she actually wanted to go in her little potty so i just tuned into her and went with her pace. I think this was the best way to go for us. We have been doing it more and more and when we are at home we don't wear a diaper, then when we would go somewhere she would. I tried putting her in panties just to go to my parents but she would always have accidents so i took a break from it for a while. Since school is out for two weeks i thought it would be perfect to get going strong. Jonathan is also home all week and since we are potty/crate training Nala also why not jump right in! ha

I don't know if Nala was our magic potion to get Ramsey going but she has done great this week. She has been great helping with Nala and we are always taking Nala out to potty so i dont know if this triggered something in her or not.

I have been very consistent with it and we have been doing naked potty training at home since Monday. We finally decided today would be the day that we would go run errands and she would wear panties. She was actually very excited about it. We went to Perkins for breakfast and she did great going to their restroom and trying but no luck. That was another thing i was worried about in public. At home, she uses her potty that sits on the floor. I wasn't sure if sitting on a big potty would be a problem or not. I did have to help her sit on it but we tried and I was so proud of her. We stayed dry at Perkins then decided to go to Best Buy. I asked her a couple times if she needed to go and she didn't then all of a sudden she said "i gotta teetee"!

So we hurried to the restroom and she went! I was so excited. It was almost like i was proud of myself! ha

So Best Buy will always be known as the place Ramsey pottied for the first time! ha

She stayed dry the rest of the time, then we came home and she did great. We do sleep in pullups. Ramsey has very full diapers during nap and bedtime but today she had a dry pullup during nap time. I was shocked!

She seems to really be getting the hang of it and i have been doing my best at being consistent. I certainly would not say she was potty trained and i am sure there will be more accidents in our future, but we are getting somewhere! It's about time!

On another note watching Nala and Ramsey play has been such a joy. Like I have said several times Evie and Maddie had such a sweet bond but Ramsey never took to her as much. She talks about her all the time now though. Nala watches everything Ramsey does and like i have said Ramsey is all over her and really sweet to her. They are so cute playing together. I am really glad we decided to keep her, it really has been great for Ramsey. She told Jonathan Nala was her best friend. Watching them makes me think of Evie and Maddie and i am so glad Ramsey has Nala! She has brought joy to us as well :)

We had a fun busy Christmas weekend!

It started Friday with a trip to Jackson to celebrate with my dad's family

Ramsey got some dress up clothes and loved wearing her veil and of course loving on Nala.

Saturday night we went to Jonathan's dads house and Michael made Ramsey a Phi Mu house ( my sorority) to play with and four princesses to put in it! ha Her, Luke and our great niece Aubrey loved playing with it!

Then we went to my parents to pick up Nala and they surprised Ramsey with a train set!

Our tradition is to open our family presents Christmas Eve night.

I grew up doing this and Jonathan and i started doing it when we got married.

We decided this year to get some things for the house and not get each other gifts. Well i stuck to it and he didn't. He got me this awesome dough bowl! I have been wanting one for a long time but haven't found one i loved yet. He found this one and i was so excited!

In case you are wondering, i will not be making dough in it, it will sit on my dining room table for decoration :)

Once again Nala found a place to sleep during the festivities :)

Nala got Ramsey some puzzles and you are a puzzle master Ramsey, you get this from your Uncle Rob i think. You look at the picture then get going. This set had 3 puzzles in it and you finished them in like 5 minutes. With your tongue sticking out like Uncle Rob also! I guess this means yall are concentrating!

After Ramsey went to sleep it was time to assemble the gifts.

Christmas Morning!

All you asked for was a purple barbie and Santa couldn't find one anywhere..however when we were in Jackson Ashlee had a barbie with a purple dress on it and let you bring it home. Santa got sneaky and stuck it in with the gifts and you saw it and said look momma its just like ashlee's! i had no idea it would be that easy! ha

I got this wedding barbie instead and you actually loved this one thank goodness!

Ramsey really enjoyed Christmas this year. She was excited about opening presents and excited about each one. Christmas is way to much fun through a child's eyes!

Meet Nala!

When we went to Evie's Garden on the anniversary there were several gifts and flowers there for her. There was one gift for us to open. We opened it and there was a picture of the sweetest little puppy! We were very confused then read the note and three of our closest couple friends, The Williams, Clarks and Millers surprised us with a new yellow lab puppy! We were pretty hesitant at first and a little stressed thinking about what an undertaking it would be and not sure if it was what we needed or not. We took a few days to think about it and weighed our pros and cons and the main reason we decided to keep her was because of Ramsey. We thought she would be a great companion for her. She talks about Maddie all the time! She ended up naming her Nala from Lion King, her new favorite movie right now, so she got attached pretty quickly. Well tonight our friends brought her to us! She will be 6 weeks tomorrow and she was born on 11-11-11! The day before Maddie's birthday :)

We instantly fell in love with her!

Ramsey did not leave her side the whole night! Obsessed would be an understatement!

We are crate training her and right now she is sound asleep in there, we are prepared for a night of crying so we will see how it goes!
