a night at Lebonheur

Well, Thursday got off to a great start but didn't end that way...
I headed to get my girlies from MDO, they were happy when i got there and the teachers said they had a great day. I was happy to hear that, throughout the day i would get that heart drop feeling, hoping they were having fun and sending them was a good idea.
Anyway we come home and like i do every single day, i bring one in sit them in their little chair in the playroom and go get the other one. This day i got Evie first, went to get Ramsey and when i came back in Evie was making a gagging sound ( like a dry heave) i ran in their and her coloring wasnt good and her lips were turning blue ( this is a symptom of her PFO but i wasnt thinking about that at all). She did start crying so i knew she wasn't choking completely but something wasn't right. Since i wasn't in there i had no idea if she put something in her mouth or not.
She continued to cry pretty hard, gag and make grunting noises. I couldn't get a hold of any family so i called my sweet neighbor and she came to get Ramsey. We thought I should go to the urgent care near our house and let them check her out. She started spitting up thick yellow stuff and then that would get stuck in her throat and she would gag then cry harder and they cycle continued. They tried to listen to see if something was in her airway or not but she was crying so hard they couldn't hear anything. They wanted her to go to Lebonheur.
I was going to drive her there but since i was alone they said i couldn't drive her because i couldn't watch her. They told me they were calling an ambulance ( i assumed they were just having one sent from the hospital) um, wrong , they called 911... here come the fire trucks and ambulances and all these guys running into the room we were in. A little dramatic and somewhat unnecessary, but they were just doing their job and i was grateful.
They put her in her carseat and strapped her onto a stretcher and we headed on our way (she actually fell asleep and started to calm down). We get to Lebonheur and her coloring started coming back and the blue went away, thank goodness! Jonathan was in little rock but got to lebonheur when we got there so that was a relief.
I was happy to see my friend Kira, she ended up being our nurse. They took her blood and her white blood cell count was high. They did a cath to see if she had a bladder infection and Evie hit her boiling point! Kira would come near her and she would cry, ha.
She finally fell asleep again
Then it was chest xray time....aka torcher chamber!!!
What in the world!
They got done with all their tests and Evie came back to being my happy baby.
I think the graham crackers helped :)
Look at her poor arm :(
The doctor thought pneumonia after looking at them, but the radiologist said no, so that was good. There was also no sign of any type of object stuck anywhere. They figured it was a viral infection and that can cause infants throats to constrict or become inflamed and that might have been why she got choked.
We are so thankful for our sweet neighbors for taking care of Ramsey. I pretty much threw her in her face! Maybe we shouldn't move! ha My parents did relieve them after a while. We are lucky to be surrounded by people who will drop everything and help us out and a wonderful hospital that took great care of my little girl!

Friday was a much more relaxing day and we met jonathan for lunch at holiday ham.
Evie was feeling much better!
