Leave it up to the hubby to take a pic :)
My white blood cell count was high and I failed two test to check for meningitis. They sent us to methodist ER. They ran more tests on me and did a spinal tap. I do have meningitis. They are 99% sure it's viral and not bacterial but until my final results come back they are treating me with antibiotic and keeping me here. So i am still here and will be until probably Wednesday.Several times during the day i am in pain and just sleeping but i feel better right when i get some pain meds.
Mom just brought me my computer so i felt good enough to sit up an do some blogging and I received some flowers from my sweet friends Emily, Erica, Natalie and Hayley!
As you know Evie passed away from meningoencephalitis so needles to say we were pretty worried on Sunday. We would appreciate your prayers that this is just viral and i will start to feel better so i can get back to my babies! Also pray that they do not get sick or show any symptoms!
Also pray for Jonathan :)
He is doing a great job taking care of me but unfortunately this has been his view for 3 days...
I will keep everyone posted when i feel up to it again!
Oh no! Praying that you feel better soon & that your hubby or baby girls don't get sick! Please update us as you can! (((hugs)))

Oh dear, so dangerous! Glad you are in good hands and being taken care of. Will keep those precious girls of yours in prayers too. I contracted viral meningitis when I was 4. Scary time for my parents, too!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh Alicia-I just had this in July and was down for 12 days straight. Viral is contagious-DO NOT let them tell you it is not. Keep everyone far away-sleep in a dark room w/wet towel on your head and try not to get up. Take pain meds when needed-and yes you will have a headache for about 2wks-do not let them give you a blood patch (meningitis blood cannot be reintroduced to your spinal fluid). If you need anything I am here to help-been there and just had a girl at work go through it too. Not fun-praying for you and the family.
ReplyDeleteAlicia - I am so sorry!! Praying that you will feel better quickly so you can get back to those babies :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. and sure will be sending up prayers for you.. You and your family are on my "in my head" prayer list..

ReplyDeletePraying! Scott had viral meningitis a few years ago and it was so scary. They also put him on antibiotics to be on the safe side, too. Thankfully - after 2 days in the hospital - he was able to come home. He was still weak and tired - but much better.
ReplyDeleteAlicia! I am so sorry! Lindsey has been keeping me posted!! We were in the ER with Sam 2 weekends ago and he was home all last week with viral meningitis as well!!
