We had a fun busy Christmas weekend!
It started Friday with a trip to Jackson to celebrate with my dad's family
Ramsey got some dress up clothes and loved wearing her veil and of course loving on Nala.
You love this dog Ramsey!
Then we had a wardrobe change to Sleeping Beauty just in time to eat a cupcake :)
You are obessed with "chastick" Ramsey!
Aunt Leigh and Uncle Bob got you some for Christmas!
This is was Nala did most of the weekend...
And this...
Finding Cocoa for the last time this year, he had to head back to the North Pole
Saturday night we went to Jonathan's dads house and Michael made Ramsey a Phi Mu house ( my sorority) to play with and four princesses to put in it! ha Her, Luke and our great niece Aubrey loved playing with it!
Then we went to my parents to pick up Nala and they surprised Ramsey with a train set!
Our tradition is to open our family presents Christmas Eve night.
I grew up doing this and Jonathan and i started doing it when we got married.
We decided this year to get some things for the house and not get each other gifts. Well i stuck to it and he didn't. He got me this awesome dough bowl! I have been wanting one for a long time but haven't found one i loved yet. He found this one and i was so excited!
In case you are wondering, i will not be making dough in it, it will sit on my dining room table for decoration :)
Once again Nala found a place to sleep during the festivities :)
Nala got Ramsey some puzzles and you are a puzzle master Ramsey, you get this from your Uncle Rob i think. You look at the picture then get going. This set had 3 puzzles in it and you finished them in like 5 minutes. With your tongue sticking out like Uncle Rob also! I guess this means yall are concentrating!
After Ramsey went to sleep it was time to assemble the gifts.
Christmas Morning!
All you asked for was a purple barbie and Santa couldn't find one anywhere..however when we were in Jackson Ashlee had a barbie with a purple dress on it and let you bring it home. Santa got sneaky and stuck it in with the gifts and you saw it and said look momma its just like ashlee's! i had no idea it would be that easy! ha
I got this wedding barbie instead and you actually loved this one thank goodness!
You put my nativity animals in your barn :)
Another thing Santa couldn't find...farm animals!
Opening your stocking..."chastick" of course
We thought you would love the vanity since you love watching me put my makeup on.
You were to cute looking in the mirror putting on multiple chapsticks and eyeshadows
We get together with my family Christmas morning.
Ramsey got more train stuff from Aunt Leigh and Uncle Bob
The "granddogs" always get gifts also
obsessed....
Taking a rest with sissy pillow, breaks my heart.
Christmas day night we celebrate with Jonathans mom and brothers.
More princess clothes!
Cant you see the excitement in her face or at least notice her mouth is wide open! ha
Immediate wardrobe change again!
Ramsey really enjoyed Christmas this year. She was excited about opening presents and excited about each one. Christmas is way to much fun through a child's eyes!
The next day Lilly and Drew came to visit!
Notice we are still wearing Snow White...
Well that about sums up our crazy weekend!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
Hi Alicia! I'm glad you guys had a Merry Christmas. That new puppy is too cute, and of course, so is Ramsey!
ReplyDeleteI dont' know you, but somehow found your blog several months back and have been wanting to email you ever since. I'm from the Atlanta area and finally have 2 little girls after a 14 week loss, a 6 week loss and a stillborn son at 39 weeks in 2008. His name is Brooks. We now have a 2 year old, Macy Brooks and a 5 month old, Kate.
I really enjoy reading your blog and following how you guys are doing after such the terrible loss of Evie. I just hate that that happened. I think about you guys often and say prayers for peace. I'm 3 years out and still have trouble with missing Brooks. My heart will still physically ache sometimes, even though so much healing has occurred. God is good all the time.
I know my story has made people who are pregnant a little more aware of the fact that babies aren't guaranteed and you have certainly made me aware that even as the girls get older, everyday is a gift. I am very good at stopping what I'm doing and soaking in my girls. If they want to rock extra, we do it. If the house is a wreck and someone needs a play doh partner, I'm in. But sometimes, I get so scared. Just recently Macy Brooks had a fever and I was terrified to go in her room and check on her. Soemtimes Satan will sneak into my thoughts and cause me to think terrible things. I found it so interesting when you wrote about how you never go in and check on the kids after they went to bed. I think that same thing alot of nights. It can be such a paralyzing fear. And then I tell Satan to get out of here, he's not welcome and I call on Jesus to fill my head with scripture. It works instantly!
Anyways, I'm rambling...any hoo, I admire your faith and am so glad God has held you close and you have leaned on him. My FIL told me after Brooks died that 70% of marriages end in divorced after they have lost a child. I can see why! It's hard a lot of days. But I know that you guys will lean on each other and the Lord. I know my husband and I have grown closer through everything and I pray that you guys do too!
I'm so excited about the new baby, thanks for keeping us posted-I'm praying.
