update

The girls are still doing good. We went up there last night with our friend Erica and they closed to nicu because they had just gotten 9 babies in and needed to get them all settled. We went back around 10:15 and got to quickly tell them goodnight before shift change at 10:30. They moved the girls into a room in the nicu so it is more quiet and their incubators are right next to each other. That is easier for us so we don't have to go back and forth. We can close the door and it is so quiet for them.
We went back up there this morning and then headed to a one year bday party! My friend anna has a little girl, Ellie who turned one today! That was so fun to see what we will be doing this time next year! She is so cute and had so much fun opening all her gifts! It was great to see my friends also!
We headed back to the nicu after the party and right when we got there, we had a little scare with Evie. Her heart rate jumped up to 300, it was crazy. The nurses rushed in and tried to get it down. It finally went down after a few minutes. They called for a quick xray to see what was going on. Evie has a pic line(like an IV) under her arm that goes close to her heart and sometimes it gets to close to her heart and tickles it which can make it jump high. They noticed it was for sure doing that when they did the xray so they wnet in and pulled the iv out a cm and once they did that her heart rate went slower to around 115 or so. They fluctuate all the time but normally stay under 175, unless they are crying then it can jump to around 200. Can you imagine your heart beating that fast? Anyway, they got her all fixed up. We stayed up there for about 3 hours though, so we are tired tonight. I am sure we will run back up there and tell them goodnight though, can't get enough of our girls :)

Here is a pic of Evie after her heart settled down, she was exhausted but she was telling us she was a-okay:)

  2. We are so thrilled for you and thankful to God for giving you these precious girls!! Your Dad has been keeping Mark up to date with pictures and info - he's a proud grandpa, as is Mark! And rightfully so. I know you will be so happy to get them home. Take care of yourselves and please know how we join you in praising God for these babies!

  3. Glad Miss Evie is ok! My newborn session with one baby yesterday took 5 hours... so I may have to pack an overnight bag for the twins' session.. ha! Which would be totally fine- soo looking forward to it!
