In Memory

Jonathan's grandfather passed away on Sunday. He was such a great man and was always so kind. He was so active even at an older age. Last year we went to his farmhouse and we couldn't keep him from getting on the ladder and trying to clean off the roof! He lived alone and took care of himself and even drove himself to church! I hope i am that active into my 90's.
Here is the obituary that was in the commercial appeal yesterday.
GEORGE “G.R.” HARRISON, 93, of Memphis went to meet his Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Quince Nursing Home. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, with services following at 11 a.m. at High Point Funeral Chapel, 3788 Summer Ave with burial in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS. Mr. Harrison was a veteran of World War II. He served his country as a Master Sergeant in the US Army. He was the former owner/operator of Ellis Barber Shop for 40 years. Mr. Harrison was a devoted member and deacon of Charjean Baptist Church. He was preceded to heaven by his wife of 62 years, Myrtie Lois Harrison. He is survived by a daughter, Ginger Martin of Colleyville, TX and a son, Randy Harrison of Memphis, five grandchildren; Michael, Chris and Jonathan Harrison, Jeff Martin and Jennifer Ramos of Euless, TX and two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Elisa.
The funeral is today and i wish i could go. I was unable to go to my grandmothers funeral during christmas also. I will be thinking about my sweet husband and his family today.
Jonathan and i have been very blessed to have such wonderful grandparents. We also have some good genes. My grandfather passed away several years ago but he was 92, my grandmother passed away this christmas and she was 92, and Mr. Harrison was 93. What a blessing to live that long. Think about what all they have seen. I feel like the past 10 years have changed so much can you imagine 90 years. I hope i am fortunate to live that long. Evie and Ramsey will have my dads parents for Great Grandparents. I never knew my great grandparents so i think they are lucky little girls:)

Jonathan and me at the Farmhouse. Mr. Harrison is in the background. This is the house he grew up in. It is the neatest house and we enjoy going down there and "exploring" I learned how to shoot a shot gun here...watch out!
